Computer Repair

 

This course takes a look under the hood of one of the pieces of technology that we use every day. Students will be involved with the disassembly, reassembly, traoubleshooting, and component identification required to build and repair desktop computers. These students will gain a working knowledge of the hardware componenets involved in the function of a computer. They will investigate the history of computing technology, its future, and its impact on society.

 

While the primary focus is on desktop computer hardware, the students will also investigate and interact with laptop and tablet computers. Students may bring in their own computers to work on over the course of the year, allowing them to develop a personal connection to their learning and to see how the skills and knowledge they have gained can benefit them in the future either as a consumer or in a career.
